Hanses Hof is located in Nehden, one of the 16 villages that belong to the core town of Brilon.
There are numerous hiking and cycling trails around the property and in the entire region, as well as many attractive leisure activities.
Nehden
Nehden is a charming village with about 500 inhabitants, which is about 7km from the forest and core town of Brilon.

The village's own bakery is open until noon six days a week.
​
Our holiday farm is located on the outskirts of the village, surrounded by nature. For example, you can walk to one of the soulful places in the Sauerland, the Almequellen, in 30 minutes.
​
Nehden itself is almost completely surrounded by the nature reserve and is known for the dinosaur site where the remains of the Iguanodon were found in 1978. You can find out more about the history of the region and a reconstruction of the skeleton in the Museum Haus Hövener.
​
Also worth seeing is the listed Johanneskapelle in the village.
Mühlental and Almequellen
The idyllic Mühlental with the alpine springs is of a rare scenic beauty and is under nature protection.
With more than 100 individual rivers, the Almequellen are one of the strongest and cleanest spring discharges in Germany.

Our holiday farm in Nehden is only 3km away from the alpine springs. Various paths through nature lead to you, whether flat along the dinosaur site or a little steeper past the eagle owl rock.
​
You should definitely have sturdy shoes with you! Incidentally, the route is also easy to ride by bike.
​
There are several places to stop for a break in the area.
In summer, the outdoor pool in Alme can also be easily reached on foot.
Brilon
The Hanseatic city of Brilon with its historic town center is also known as the most densely wooded city in Germany.
​
Around the market square are the Museum Haus Hövener, the starting point of the Rothaarsteig and all kinds of restaurants.
​
Among other things, Brilon offers a mini golf course, an indoor swimming pool, a city library and an attractively designed spa park.
​
Around the city center you will find a wonderful forest outdoor pool, the forest fairy path, a 17 km long mountain bike trail, a varied archery tour, the Möhne spring directly on the Kammweg and much more.
